Dropping In
Dropping In – Canada Geese
Open Edition 8″ x 10″ – $30.00
Canada Geese find landing on the ground a little awkward particularly in snow storms and strong winds. Feet stretched forward, toes spread wide, necks bent downward, each tries to maintain balance and to avoid collision while touching down.
In the composition, “Dropping In”, Canada Geese like planes in a squadron have made their final approach. The altitude is lost and the glide is over. Coming into the wind, the sound of their powerful backstrokes and the slight of their bodies tilted upwards with tail spread and feet down are heart-stopping. When orchestrated with the precision of acrobats, mature Canadas dropping in from just overhead is one of the most beautiful scenes in the outdoor world.
